Vanity Fair Social Club Emmys 2015 Recap - #VFSC

Hi loves,

How has your week been? I am super happy that it is Friday, it has been a rough busy week for me at work/school (what else is new? I have been complaining non stop now, sorry! haha). So I am looking forward to the weekend to relax and shut off. Today I am recapping the Vanity Fair Social Club (#VFSC) Emmys event I had the opportunity to attend, that I had such a great time at! I posted one of my outfits for the Saturday events, but I did attend Sunday as well (it was a two day event this time, the Oscars VFSC was a whole week long event!).
Going to events like these are awesome because I get to shut off from Science for a few hours and get to meet and talk to people in a whole different industry and the industry that LA is famous for - fashion and film. I am so happy and lucky to get invited to these kinds of events, as it is a nice little release from my hectic daily life!

The day started out with different talks/panelists, which was cool because they were able to bring in some stars that were actually nominated for Emmy awards on Sunday night. There were little breaks for food in between sessions, some freebies, and a mini photobooth (was actually a bed with flowers! so cool), and I got to see some blogger friends and meet a lot of new faces! I also snapchatted a lot during VFSC on both days, so if you are curious about these kinds of events I go to, you can follow me on snap chat (andreah227). I snap chat random daily things (my life isn't SO exciting), and sometimes I'm just plain silly. Do follow if you like, but I can't promise crazy events like this all the time... haha!

This is the outfit I wore on Saturday - see my previous post for outfit details, Motel Rocks dress!

What I wore - #VFSC and the Green MotelRocks Dress

Happy Friday!
This post is a little late on a Friday but I wanted to post it and not wait until next week!
I wore this green dress from MotelRocks, that has been sitting in my closet for a few years now, to the Vanity Fair Social Club event last weekend that I have been talking about! I was tired of things in my closet and wanted something new (seems like I have to go shopping soon and clean out my closet!), and I pulled out this dress that I haven't worn before! I used to be obsessed with MotelRocks, and they are a contributing reason for why I started my blog back in 2012 - I was ordering a lot of clothes from their site (and I had a code for 20% off, not sure if it still works but it's worth a shot! Andreah227), so it was kinda cool to have a brand that I loved! I got a free dress from them once too for winning a competition (now that I think of it I haven't worn that either!).
I am trying to go through my closet and drawers and clean out clothes that I haven't worn in a while, to make space for new clothes. My style is always evolving, and as I'm approaching my late 20s (I'm going to be 27 in February... crap!), I want a more polished style!
This dress was a color block dress that I really liked, with a more loose top, and I paired it with a green statement necklace along with some comfortable sandals/heels that I have worn before. I knew I was going to be at VFSC for the whole afternoon and I wanted some comfortable shoes while still stylish!

Vanity Fair Social Club in Hollywood - Pre-Oscars events

I recently had the chance to be a part of the Vanity Fair Social Club (#VFSC)  Pre-Oscars week events for Social Influencers at @WeWork in Hollywood! There were week long festivities including panels with various speakers, Q&As, free things, free makeup, nails and hair styling, happy hour drinks, food, networking and more!
Being a busy graduate student, I was having a crazy week at the lab, but I managed to sneak out of work early on Friday afternoon and took the bus from UCLA to Hollywood just in time for a panel, drinks, some food, fun with some great ladies! I also made it on Saturday, the last day of the the VFSC events, and it was a blast!
I got to see my friends and some Blogger Babes, (blogger babes represent!) and I got to take some really cute and funny pictures at the #VFSC photo booth! We all loved that thing, it was very amusing! Took some funny photos with Heidi from The Ambitionista, Alma from Practically Fashion, and Chantal from Boyajian Trend Gallery!
