Lee Stafford Ubuntun Oils from Africa Hair Product Review

Hello loves!
Hope you had a lovely weekend!
I had the opportunity to go to a Vanity Fair Social Club (#VFSC) Two Day event over the weekend in celebration of and leading up to a viewing party for the Emmy Awards, so I have lots to post about that coming up soon! It was a lot of fun and I got some freebies, if you have been following my Instagram or Twitter feeds! (If you aren't, you should! Go click the links above and to the left!!)
But more on that later this week!

Six Summer Beauty Travel Essentials

Happy middle of the week/almost the weekend!
As the weekend gets closer I'm getting more and more anxious about my trip! I finally settled into my new apartment, finally got rid of boxes and unpacked everything, and finally got into a routine for my commute to work, and now I'm getting ready to jet set off to Europe for the next three weeks! I have already talked about this but I am going to a conference in Barcelona, and I finished my poster for my presentation tonight, going to go print it tomorrow on fabric (yes they print on fabric so no more carrying huge poster tubes in the airport!), and just wrapping up experiments in lab. Time to start packing for the next few weeks of SUN and RELAXATION!! Something I have been lacking the last few weeks.

Red White and Blue - Vice3 Makeup Tutorial

Hello lovelies!
I am back with a *late* blog post, but I liked it so much I thought I would post it anyway. The craziness of life has started to slow down, so I have more time to post! I was working crazy long hours to try to finish experiments before I leave on my trip, and throw moving a whole one bedroom apartment over a weekend was a feat in itself - I didn't realize how much stuff I have accumulated since living by myself! My new apartment is almost completely set up, which feels good and I can finally relax! And then in a week I will be heading off to Europe - first to a conference in Spain - which I am ECSTATIC about! I have always wanted to go to Spain, and particularly Barcelona! and then off to Cyprus to lounge by the beach and hang out with family! SO. EXCITED.

Today I bring you a Fourth of July makeup tutorial from last week, using shades from my beloved UD Vice3 Palette! This palette is seriously so versatile, and can create so many different looks, as you have seen with my makeup tutorial series using this one palette! Even something like a Fourth of July look can be created! I took a break from packing last Saturday to go to a BBQ, and decided to try to be festive, so I pulled out my palette and created this look! I realized after its not completely original since a lot of other people have done this look but I didn't look at any other photos to come up with the idea! Lol. Take a look!

Hawaiian Luau Inspired Makeup Tutorial - Vice 3 Palette

Happy Friday loves! TGIF!
I'm glad its the weekend! Even though I feel like I didn't get much done experiment wise, I still feel exhausted, from running around doing things I needed, and finished a final presentation for a class I was taking. Today I helped plan a End of Year party for the graduate students in our department that is Luau themed! I love anything Hawaiian themed, and it brought me back to last year when I went to Waikiki to visit my cousin! I bought the decorations and leis and I am really excited to start setting up in a few hours!
Here is a makeup look inspired by the colorful hawaiian vibes! I used my Vice 3 Palette (seriously, the makeup looks and combinations are endless!), and the colors are so vibrant, I love how it came out. I still haven't mastered the great photography techniques other makeup bloggers have mastered, but I am trying!

Makeup Monday - Vice 3 Tutorial - Mermaid Green!

Happy Monday! Welcome to my Makeup Monday Series, an expansion of my Vice 3 Tutorial series! I want to start featuring Makeup tutorial looks every Monday! I have acquired so much makeup that I have bought that I want to start using it and making unique and classy looks you can wear to various occasions!

I am still in awe of my Vice3 Palette by Urban Decay (and no, they did not give me anything to do all these tutorials and feature their palette, I am just in love), and I had been itching to use these green-blue shades! I wore it to work, which may have been a little much, but I think it turned out well! I was having an off morning so I just did my makeup to make myself feel better since I felt so glamorous! And it was an easy look to transition from work to night out for drinks with some friends and the boyfriend! Also, I guess you don't have to use the Vice3 palette, if you have similar shades you can also create this look!
This look is super glam, and can be very versatile! Check out the tutorial below!

I am surprised how many different looks you can create with this palette! And the colors are so vibrant and bright, it is beautiful! Check out the look and tutorial below! Perfect Fall Makeup

I am back on the east coast for a few days for a friend's wedding. Boston is so much colder than LA! I came back in the middle of a storm so it was down pouring and windy. BUT,  perfect reason to bundle up and lots of opportunities for fall fashion!
Went out to do some errands with my lovely mom and did my makeup with my Maya Mia palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills! The shadows are perfect for fall, and I created this nice, daily glam look by blending four of the shadows across my lid!
Shadow primer by Urban Decay, Liquid liner by Maybelline stilleto, DiorShow Blackout Mascara, Smashbox CC cream, and Hikari lipstick in berry. I feel like this look makes my brown eyes pop!
Perfect opportunity to wear my black pea coat too!

Is it fall where you are? How are you keeping in fashion with weather changes?

Reviews for recent items!

Helloooo. So here are my reviews for my Ipsy Glam bag items and some other stuff I have talked about before!
So First of all, I painted my nails with the Nailtini red nail polish and it was so shiny and glossy without a top coat! I was lazy and didn't put on a top coat and it lasted a couple of days and still had shine! It was nice. It only started to chip when I went back to work and had to wear gloves (pesky gloves, ruin all my nail polish! downside of being a scientist!)
I also have used the Big Sexy Hair hairspray. I curled my hair with the styling tool last weekend and I spritz it with the hairspray. It didn't make my hair crunchy, it just made sure the curls stayed 100%! it was pretty nice, and I was happy with the hairspray. Other hairsprays I have usually make my hair stiff!
I have also been using the Argan oil from the kit in my hair right after I shower or before bed to make my hair silky and hydrated. So far so good! I like it. But I do have the same Argan oil in a much bigger bottle from one'n'only, probably a lot cheaper than the Josie Maran oil for the same if not more.
I used the Pacifica body butter from the kit as well, as my hands have gotten really dry! It smells so good, I love it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!
Hope everyone had a fabulous night!
I ended up going to this bar downtown that I went last year... my friend and I swore we wouldn't go there this year, but lo and behold, that is where we ended up again. But it was fun, the music was good. This is what I wore!
I curled my hair using my straightener that I bought (the PYT styling tool -- seriously best investment ever!) It took me some time because I sectioned it off and did small pieces, but I know that as I get better at using it it will take less and less time!  I think my hair came out fabulous! I love it! I intertwined pieces to get the layered look and it all was in one huge curl, i loved it! ALSO, may I note that I DID NOT USE ANY HAIRSPRAY!!!!!! And my hair stayed like this all night!!! My hair is usually so hard to curl and keep in a curl! I woke up this morning and my hair was still curly too! This styling tool is amazing, I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an easy way to curl their hair!
As far as my makeup, I used my Dior show Blackout mascara -- my eyelashes looked fake! My mom was convinced I put false lashes on, but they were all mine! I wish I took a picture of my eyelashes!
I also used a goldish eyeshadow from Maybelline and created a smokey eye look with the MAC Smutty Green eyeshadow I blogged about previously! It came out really great! Topped my lids with liquid liner and voila!
